Jammu, Oct 6: NITS Polytechnic in association with the Art of Living(AOL) Jammu chapter organized the Swatchta Pakhwada, which culminated yesterday.
The campaign witnessed large scale participation in the form of volunteer service for cleanliness, clean and green drives, Swachhata pledges, awareness campaigns etc. During this period the enthusiastic students, staff, management of the institution and AOL teachers along with volunteers walked through the streets of Indira Nagar and spread the mass awareness on sanitation and appealed to the people of the adjoining areas to maintain cleanliness in the area.
Apart from this the cleanliness drive was carried out on daily basis wherein sweeping of roads, collection of garbage and clearing of the huge garbage dump at Indira Nagar Morh, painting of walls etc. was undertaken. Around 500 saplings were planted in and around the institution during the period of Swachhata hi Seva Pakhwada to impart the message of going green and being healthy
Art of living Teachers lead by Mamta and senior staff of the Institute Ashok Choudhary, SS Wazir, Dalip Kohli, Vijay Singh, HP Singh, Sanjeev Koul, JR Tuli and staff, students and AOL volunteers along with the residents of Indira Nagar also participated in the Swachhata hi Seva campaign. |
