Mainstream leader camps in UAE for 'secret talks' | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 23: A senior leader of a regional party is camping in the United Arab Emirates for some allegedly "secret talks" which he hopes will strengthen his position as a more "powerful politician" in Jammu and Kashmir state. Sources said the PDP leader has been camping in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah for the last few days and held a series of talks of with some of the "prominent Kashmiri settled in the Middle East as also with their contacts." Sources said the leader has been in touch with "Kashmiris from both the sides of the LoC." Sources said the leader has been calling his close aides in Kashmir, after every few hours to update them about the progress made in the visit. "He has been calling them about each and every development that takes place during his tour and takes their feedback on what needs to be done next," said a source close to the deliberations. Sources said the leader has been sent by a group which wants to emerge as the new "king making power center." "See this group has larger than life ambitions of showing that they are most powerful and thus they want to do each and everything that makes them achieve their designs," said a source privy to the group. Sources said the leader who had been lobbying for alliance with a rival party now wants to utilize his overseas contacts to get more powerful in the state of Jammu and Kashmir "lest his position is undermined." Sources said the leader has also been in contact with the some high profile people in Europe. It was reliably learnt that the leader would keep shuttling between Dubai and London for some time. Sources said the leader has told his party that he would get back with "good news from abroad." Despite repeated attempts the leader in question couldn't be contacted for comments. |
