Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Nov 6: Special Investigation Team headed by Additional SP Kishtwar has reportedly got some credible leads in the murders of BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar, who were shot dead by some unidentified gunmen at Tapal Mohalla of Kishtwar town last week.
As per the details available with "Early Times" the investigating agencies have zeroed in on a few people who might be behind the killings of the Parihar brothers while the SIT has picked up several people for questioning from different areas of Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas to collect the information and vital clues regarding the killers who are still at large after executing the murder.
The statement of the eyewitness in identifying the assailants could be key to the success of the Kishtwar police probing the incident.
The sources said that after registration of FIR No. 290/2018 U/S 302, 7/25 Arms Act, Kishtwar police constituted seven member SIT to probe the murders and added that beside constituting the SIT, all the officials had been given the directions to assist the SIT to conduct the raids and searches in different parts of the Kishtwar district.
The sources told "Early Times" that the interrogation of a female hailing from a remote area of Kishtwar district could help in tracing the killers.
The sources said that though Kishtwar police sent a team yesterday to detain the said female, but police party was prevented by some locals in the village to take her custody.
The sources said that police fearing law and order in the area though returned empty handed following which a fledged police contingent was sent to the village to take the custody of the said lady, who according to sources could provide vital details with regards to the hideouts of the suspects who are under police scanner as potential killers of the Parihar brothers.
The lady has been detained and is being questioned.
The sources said that police is probing the role of Hizb and Lashkar terror modules which were busted by the Kishtwar police in last one and half year.
The sources said that the role of senior police officer who allegedly hoodwinked the probe into the busting of terror module in the district after allegedly indulging in corruption is also under the scanner of the agencies probing the terror related incident in the district Kishtwar.
The sources said that the said officer didn't act on the leads given by the arrested Hizb/Lashkar OGWs presently in judicial custody and instead shifted the probe to other officer with ulterior motive of corruption.
Meanwhile the official who is part of the SIT yesterday visited the scene of crime and questioned the neighbors living in and around the scene of crime to gather the leads about the killers.
The sources said that around five dozen people had so far been picked up for the questioning.
The Governor Satya Pal Malik during his Press Conference on the opening of the Durbar Move offices at Jammu also hinted that the killers behind the killing of 52 year old Anil Parihar and 55 Year old Ajeet Parihar have been identified.
It is pertinent to mention that in a major set to Hizb terror outfit, its key associate and a non state subject face from Assam namely Qamar-u-Zama was arrested by the Utter Pradesh Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) from Kanpur on 12-9-2018 on the bases of the inputs given by the Kishtwar Police through Jammu and Kashmir police who is currently probing the case after the arrest of an OGWs and its active militants in Kishtwar District, but to the disappointment Jammu and Kashmir police didn't seek his custody for questioning which include about working of various terror modules in Kishtwar District as well as his training and planning to carry out terror strikes in Kishtwar and other parts of the state.
