Staff of CHC Kandi calls off strike | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Nov 16: Timely intervention by the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr Iqbal Malik, the staff at Community Health Centre (CHC) at Kandi called off their flash strike after few staff members were allegedly thrashed /manhandled by the attendants of a pregnant woman. Sazia Kousar was brought to CHC at Kandi by the family and relatives after she developed labour pains. "During treatment a verbal altercation took place between the staff members and the attendants of Sazia. Later it took ugly turn and a Nursing Orderly (NO) and a female staff nurse were thrashed / manhandled and were abused. Those involved in the thrashing were identified as Mohd Ayoub, Amrit Ali and Mushtaq Ahmed and the entire staff went on flash strike. The matter was brought into the notice of Dr. Iqbal Malik ,BMO. He reached on the spot informed the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tehsildar and SHO, Kotranaka and brought the situation under control. "After detailed verification about the incident, a FIR against the erring attendants has been moved in the police station. On the assurance of ADC that action will be taken in this matter, the staff called off their flash strike and the work was resumed" said BMO. |
