Guv 'fabricating' facts, says Sajad Lone | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 28: A few days after J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik claimed that the Modi government wanted to see People's Conference leader Sajad Lone as Chief Minister of J&K, Lone on Wednesday accused the Governor of misrepresenting facts. Talking to media in New Delhi, Lone said that it is "unfortunate that the Governor has indulged in misrepresentation of facts," and called it a gross distortion of facts. Lone further claimed that it was the Governor who asked him to send a fax and added that his party tried to contact the Governor to form the government but they were unsuccessful. While People's Conference claimed it tried to fax the letter to the Governor, the PDP tweeted a letter on the social media. Lone further added that his party had the required number of MLAs to form the government in the state and claimed that once Mehbooba Mufti received this information she immediately posted a letter of intent to form the government on her Twitter account. Earlier, at an event in Gwalior, Malik had claimed that he decided to dissolve the Assembly instead giving an opportunity to both sides to form the government as he didn't want to go down in history as a "dishonest" man, reports said. Malik also said that he did the right thing and added if he would have been working on the instructions of New Delhi then Sajad Lone would have got the chance to form the government. After Governor Malik's revelation, Nati-onal Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti congratulated the Governor for not working on New Delhi's order. |
