PNBMT holds series of meetings ahead of Chetna Divas | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 5: In the run up to the much awaited annual event of the Chetna Divas, the Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) held a series of well attended meetings at different locations in Jammu. Today the meeting was held at SRS School in Amar Colony here today in which a large number of residents from Amar Colony and Gole Gujral participated. The Secretary of the trust Sundri Lal briefed the gathering about the forthcoming event of Chetna Divas which is observed every year on the martyrdom day of Pt Prem Nath Bhat on December 27. The participants were also asked to give their suggestions and also to raise issues in order to incorporate them in the combined speech of the community speaker on the day. This year noted writer and intellectual Pradeep Khodbali would be donning the hat of the Community Speaker. In today's meeting Dr BL Handoo raised the issues concerning the marginalization of the Kashmiri Pandit community in the politico administrative set up of the state. Issues regarding lack of a health care system for the elderly were also raised by the members. Some members raised the issue of the gradual thinning of the community on account of migration of the younger generations due to the lack of employment opportunities in the state. |
