Former Dir Info pays tributes to Sheikh Abdullah | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 5 Narinder Singh former Director Information in a statement from USA paid rich tributes to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on his Birthday. Singh said that he wasn't only a tallest leader of J&K State but also contemporary of Pandit Jwahar Lal Nehru,Maulana Abdual Kalam Azad and Khan Abdual Ghaffar Khan who participated in freedom movement. He was also a secular leader and firm believer of secular traditions and communal harmony. Singh described him as a social and visionary leader with an international image who dominated the political scene for over five decades and made his place in the hearts of the people of the country. He said Sheikh Sahib is still remembered because of his remarkable and significant contributions such as introducing revolutionary land to the tillers law,making education free from class one to MA and introducing of Single Line Administration (Taking Government to Door Steps of the Peoples) and fixing priorities to the developmental projects. Singh added that Sheikh Sahib always struggled and faced many hardships and remained in jails for twenty two years for the welfare of the people of the state especially people of Kashmir loved him to the extent that they used to call him Baba-e-Qaum and Bub(father). Sheikh Sahib wanted to build new Kashmir (Naya Kashmir), National Conference Party under the dynamic leadership of Dr Farooq Abdullah should try to achieve this goal and fulfill the dreams of Sheikh Sahib and all political parties and Civil Socities should join together to restore peace and normalcy in the State, he maintained. |
