Katra, Dec 5: A weeklong educational-cum-industrial trip was organized by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, wherein 31 students of M. Sc. (Biotechnology) participated, along with their mentors.
The students got an opportunity to witness world class research by participating in the international conference on 'Bio-Innovation for Environmental and Health Sustainable Developments' (BEHSD-2018), hosted by one of the leading research institutes, namely CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
The conference aimed at addressing the current challenges in creating a sustainable and affordable ecosystem in the framework of cutting edge R&D interventions and was attended by the researchers from many countries, including US, UK, Italy, Japan, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Israel, China, etc. The team also visited Patanjali Research Center and Herbal Park, the Mega Food Park and their Ayurvedic Aushadishala established under the Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industry, Govt. of India, at Haridwar-one of the largest food and herbal parks in the world equipped with world?class manufacturing machinery and R&D facility spread across an area of around 260 acres.
The tour was very informative and enlightening as an academic bonanza for the students organized by the motivational efforts of Dr. Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU and Prof. V. Verma Head, School of Biotechnology. |
