| DB seeks policy on street vendors | | PIL against illegal encroachment in old city | |

JAMMU, Dec 10: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Jagidsh Chander Gupta to highlight the illegal encroachments by the shopkeepers and other unknown persons in the JDA Shopping Complex, Mohalla Old Hospital Road, Near City Chowk, Jammu and also in the area adjoining the same, Division Bench of the State High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan after hearing Adv Ajay Sharma for the PIL whereas Adv Sachin Gupta for the JMC, observed that counsel for the JMC informed this Court that a policy stands drafted on the issue of vendors and & Hawkers in the State of J&K which is pending with Administrative Department of the JMC and sought time to pace the same on record.
Division Bench directed JMC to file policy within four weeks. |
