BJP betrayed people of Jammu: Omar
12/10/2018 9:55:49 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 10: Former Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah on Monday said that National Conference is going to fight the upcoming general election on its own and won't be de dependent on other political parties to form a government in the state.
Addressing the senior leaders and party functionaries of Jammu province at Sher-e-kashmir Bhavan National Conference vice president said "Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) failed to fulfill the promise of Jammu province and people of Jammu should not repeat the earlier mistake and should vote for the betterment of the Jammu province.
Omar challenged the BJP to come up with a Chief Minister face for the upcoming election and said that they earlier went to the person with just two ministers to form a government. He said that BJP accuses NC for destroying the nation but they are the one who are working against the dignity and integrity of the state.
He said "I do not know how BJP face the people of Jammu province. They betrayed and lied to the people of Jammu. In 2014 elections they chanted "Modi ayenge Jammu ko bachayengey (Modi will come and save jammu). They asked to vote for BJP and promised that they will create leadership from Jammu but they failed".
He added that this time if people of Jammu voted for BJP MLA's again. They will do the same thing what they did recently. People of Jammu have every right to know whom will BJP make sit on CM's chair if they come into power.
Abdullah said once the coalition of PDP and BJP came to end, rumors starting moving from BJP side that they are going to form a government but they could not find total number of MLA's to be in the government.
"We are in doubt because whenever we used to ask them (BJP) how it is possible to form government they used to say we will make it. I wonder where they thinking of buying ministers buy using old formulae. Time passed and with the passage of time things got bad to worst with people getting confused and things reached at the stage where it all came to save the special status of the state", Omar said.
He added that we thought PDP, NC and Congress should come together to save this nation to bring peace and strength brotherhood among three regions and save the special status of the state. I knew this decision could destroy political image of NC, but when it comes to betterment of nation, I will prefer my nation over the image of political organization.
"Allegation were made against us that we are making government on the command from Pakistan but when we asked them for proof. They took back allegations. We along with PDP and Congress were in majority but opponents had few MLA's still assembly got dissolved", said Omar.
Omar alleged that I can tell you with assured that MLA's were getting threat call from different agencies to form a government with them, else they will be charged in different cases. National Conference does not believe in all this.
He added that we will go to the people and will address their issues of unemployment roads hospitals and other issues and we want people of Jammu to understand and vote for their betterment in upcoming elections.
