Rajouri, Dec 18: A land owner was attacked by some unscrupulous elements in Nowshehra when he was getting his land demarcated in the presence of revenue officials. While the land owner was physically assaulted, the Revenue officials however stayed away and made no attempt to save the victim.
Sources told Early Times that a person namely Inderjit son of Saroop Singh, the resident of village Hanjana of Tehsil Nowshera had moved an application with Revenue Department for demarcation of his land as some miscreants were trying to encroach it.
They further said that acting upon the application, concerned Naib Tehsildar, Patwari, Gardawar reached the spot and started carrying out demarcation of land, when the miscreants reached there and created interruption in the process and started beating the owner of land, who received injuries. Immediately, people from the neighbourhood reached the spot and saved the victim and took him to hospital for treatment.
The victim alleged that the revenue officials acted as mute spectators and did nothing to save him. Meanwhile, the victim has lodged a complaint with the concerned police for FIR against the miscreants. |
