Akhnoor, Dec 18: Congress leader and former minister Sham Lal Sharma today accused BJP of misleading the nation with hollow slogans "as it has failed to fulfill any of its poll promises". "BJP is misleading the nation on various fronts as it has failed to fulfill any of its promises so far except spreading falsehood and hollow slogans," Addressing a public meeting at Panchayat Godhan Akhnoor, Sharma charged the BJP government with serving the interests of big corporate houses only. He said that the people across the country particularly youth and farmers are having grouse against the Government which was proved by routing out the BJP from power in the recently concluding assembly elections in the states of Rajasthan, MP and Chhattisgarh. Coming down heavily on BJP government's monetary policy, Sham said that the last four years have been extremely challenging. He termed demonetization a "monumental disaster of epic proportions" which failed to achieve any of the stated objectives. "There is ample evidence which suggests demonetization was a dubious scheme meant to convert black money into white," said Sharma adding it was a "deliberate and designed" attack on savings of small traders, farmers and housewives. The slogans of 'Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas' and 'Na Khaoonga, Na Khaane Doonga' are only and only drama and a trick to grab power," he said, referring to BJP's promises of inclusive development and corruption-free governance. |
