Two held, over 800 charas recovered | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 18: Continuing its efforts to contain the menace of drug abuse, Bakshi Nagar policed claimed to have achieved major success today by arresting two drug peddlers and recovered over 800 gram charas from their possession. Police spokesman said that during naka checking, a team led by Inspector Naresh Sharma-SHO Bakshi Nagar signaled a vehicle bearing number registration number JKO2BP-7362 to stop. The said car attempted to flee from the spot but was stopped, said spokesman. "During the search of the said vehicle, 50 Challiyan of Cannabis (Charas) weight around 848gm were recovered", said spokesman adding that on enquiry, the two persons in the vehicle disclosed their identities as Sumesh Zutshi (driver) of Om Nagar Udheywala and Shiv Kumar of Lower Shiv Nagar, Jammu. Based on this, case under FIR No. 172/2018 under section 8/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered in Bakshi Nagar police station and investigation has been initiated. Further investigation is going on to uncover the others involved which may lead to more arrests. The entire exercise was closely monitored by SDPO City West Jammu Sheema Nabi Qasba, and SP City North Jammu Amrit Pal Singh under the overall guidance of I/C SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta. |
