CTA demands creation of posts in colleges | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 10: College Teachers Association has sought immediate creation of posts of Assistant Professors and posts of non-teaching staff in existing government degree colleges of the state. According to press release, a meeting of CTA was held today with President Prof.D.S.Manhas. CTA members stated that most of the existing Government Degree Colleges are falling short of posts of Assistant Professors and Non-Teaching staff. It is was observed that at the time of establishment of the colleges the student teacher ratio was less but with time the number of students has increased manifold but the number of posts created has remained the same. Presently about 2300 teachers have been engaged on academic arrangement basis to cater the needs of students. Most of the colleges are falling short of Non-Teaching staff too. On the basis of increase in the roll of students in the colleges there is an immediate requirement of creation of posts of Assistant Professors and Non-Teaching posts accordingly in the existing colleges. CTA appealed to Advisor (G) to Governor, J&K State to create about 1500 posts of Assistant Professors and same number of posts for Non-Teaching staff in the existing colleges of the State, so that students can be benefitted and quality education can be provided to them.
