| LMD Kathua imposes fine of Rs 10000 on defaulter | | |

Kathua, Jan 10: Acting on a complaint viral in social media, the Legal Metrology Department Dayalachak booked a local dealer of Electrical Applian-ces in Dayalachak for overcharging. The complainant has alleged that he purchased a capacitor from M/S Hira Lal Industries Dayalachak and the trader charged Rs 40 against the MRP of Rs 31. The Inspector Legal Metrology Dayalachak Prittam Salaria issued notice to the concerned trader under Legal Metrology Act and rules. Subsequently the said trader confessed his guilt and appealed to compound the case departmentally and assured the department not to repeat the offence in future. The Asstt Controller Legal Metrology Kathua Kuldeep Raj compounded the case and imposed a penalty of Rs 10000 on the offender namely Hira Lal son of late Sita Ram. |
