Udhampur, Jan 10: The material used in road repairing work at Dhar Road at Battal Morh is sub-standard as GREF personnel have been seen using mud instead of the macdam..
"Earlier also mud was used but it has given way and the GREF are repeating the same," a local driver Surinder said.
Similarly other drivers of the area said that damaged roads lower life of their vehicles.
Some sources informed that huge funds are withdrawn on the name of road repairs but cheap and sub-standard material is used and money is swindled.
"This road is accident prone and bad roads only add to the risk," Puran Chand-a tea stall owner on the highway said.
He further said that people have killed their conscience and are earning money in illegal ways.
Many people said that there should be check on the works of GREF and others as human lives are connected with road projects. |
