Reasi, Jan 20: Police claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered poppy straw from their possession in two separate incidents at different places.
Police spokesman said that a special naka was raised by team of police station Pouni at Domail and during checking one person who was coming from Bharakh (Pouni), and carrying a sack on his back.
Meanwhile when he saw the police party doing checking, he tried to conceal his presence and made a bid to escape from there. The accused has been identified as as Zahoor Ahmed of Kokernag, Anantnag. During the search of his sack, 7.5 Kgs of poppy straw (Bhukki ), was recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, Reasi police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 670 gram poppy straw from his possession. The accused has been identified as Mohd Iqbal of Bhabar Rasalayan, in Reasi. |
