Hari, Marhote residents hold protest against Transport Deptt | | | Early Times Report
SURANKOTE, Jan 20: Alleging that Tata sumo drivers are looting poor masses especially students, the inhabitants of Hari and Marhote areas of Surankote held a protest against the Transport Department here today. Led by Javid Choudhary, the protesters said that the people of Hari and Marhote are continuously facing troubles due to mismanagements of the transport authorities. Javid Iqbal Reshi, the chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Insaaf Movement, working general secretary Tanveer Ahmed and activist Adv Shabab Kazmi also reached the spot to listen to the public grievances. Javid Reshi on the occasion said that the area is having more than twenty five thousand population, however, the presence of public transport is almost negligible. The protesters finally dispersed following an assurance from the Inspector Motor Vehicle Department Poonch Zahoor Tantray, who reached the spot and pacified the agitated people. He told the demonstrators that all their basic demands will be fulfilled on priority basis. |
