SRS raises question mark on credibility of Cable Car Project | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 24: Shri Ram Sena (SRS) on Thursday reiterated its demand to arrest culprit Contractor and its Managing Director (MD) for Bahu Fort-Mahamaya-Peerkho Cable Car Project tragedy claiming two precious lives and injuries to half a dozen others. Addressing a press conference here today, SRS State President, Rajiv Mahajan termed the project as a failed project. He asked Governor to order an immediate enquiry into the funds spent on the project claiming that the MD of the contract is a well known politician of State and has withdrawn more funds than the work done on the ground. A huge amount of money which has been spent on this project is wasted, he said adding that the concerned shed responsibility by saying technical fault. "If they were not capable to handle such big projects why they waste our money?"he questioned and demanded that an expert team of engineers from outside must be asked to verify the project to find out whether the contractor and MD of project were capable of undertaking such a project or it has been allotted to someone following nepotism and favouritism and political influence. He alleged the enquiry into other two similar projects installed at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and Kud should also be conducted as accident at Jammu on trial run of Jammu Cable Car Project has raised serious doubts and also it has created serious fear psychosis among visitors regarding its credibility. He further alleged that being one of the ambitious projects of Jammu, initially it was delayed unnecessarily and missed several deadlines and now this tragedy smells a well laid conspiracy to keep tourists and pilgrims away from tourists and religious destinations located in Jammu. |
