DAHWA calls on Secretary SWD, demands inclusion of wards of handicapped parents under ICPS | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 24: Chairperson, Destitute And Handicapped Welfare Association (DAHWA), Surat Singh Sumbria, called on Secretary Social Welfare Department and apprised him of several pension related issues seeking an early redressal to the same. Sumbria expressed gratitude to the Secretary for recent sanctioning and releasing of pensions in favour of most deserving pensioners and hoped that special care will be taken of the needy beneficiaries with the same concern in future as well. DAHWA demanded establishment of an office of Social Welfare Department at Majalta tehsil as the rural people here are facing a lot of hardships on this account. It also urged for inclusion of young widows below 40 years in the widow pension scheme as were given earlier because they need this financial help badly to take care of their little wards, release of pension under different categories lying pending since March 2009, inclusion of wards of handicapped parents under ICPS scheme, exemption of BPL, AAY, PHH families from income certificate being demanded for ICPS and related public welfare issues. The Secretary, while appreciating various suggestions putforth by DAHWA regarding pension schemes, assured Sumbria that all the issues projected by him would be examined and redressed at the earliest. |
