Jammu, Jan 28: Ek Sath Rang Mandal showcased 336th Monday Theatre today with the patriotic theme of Vandey Mataram, with its brief definition for younger generation under Monday Theatre Series at Gandhi Nagar Jammu. "Vandey Mataram is a song which is considered to be a symbol of our Independence. Though, so many patriotic songs were written and sung in different parts of our country for independence but this unique and famous song used to be on the top of the list. Vandey Mataram means, "I am praying to my mother ", said a participant. He added that this patriotic song has created a history in the struggle of Independence of the country. In this NUKAD (street play), a group has decided to explain the importance and definition of Vandey Mataram to our young generation. Vandey Mataram was written by famous Bengali writer BANKIMCHANDER CHHATOUPPADAE in 1876 that used SANSKRIT AND BENGALI languages for this song. First of all this song was officially published in Beg Darshan magazine in1881 and in 1882, he included this song in his famous novel Anandmath. |
