Self-Defence Camp for Girls organised | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 29: Bureau of Outreach and communication, Regional Outreach Bureau, Govt of India is organising series of self defence camps in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir state to mark the celebrations of Beti Bachao Beti Padao week. In this series, a programme was organised at BBN Hr Sec School Vijaypur in Samba District which was attended by a large number of girls. The programme was attended by Neha Jalali (HS) Head of Office, Regional Outreach Bureau J&K as chief guest. An official said that the objective of these programmes was to impart the self defence techniques, skills and tricks among the girl students so that they can cope up with all kinds of adverse situations in their lives especially with regard to their safety. Neha Ialali highlighted all the essential components of Beti Bachao Beti Badao scheme. She said that self defence is the first step towards the empowerment of women. Knowledge of self defence techniques can give confidence to girls and they can face any adverse situation with regard to safety. She urged girls to learn and later practice all the techniques which they have learnt during the programme. During the programme a live demonstration show on self defence followed by a talk show was also organised by the Shweta Thakur State awardee and 5 times national gold medallist in Judo, along with Virbhadara Singh National Champion in Judo, Sajan Sharma national level Judo Player. Dimple Sharma, Director BBN Hr. Sec School Vijaypur, Samba said that the need for self defence techniques for girls is need of hour. He wished the girls should achieve all the heights all the heights of the world. |
