All roads leading to Court be kept free from obstructions: DB to traffic | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 29: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Sumit Nayyar regarding security of High Court Jammu Division as well as District Court Jammu, Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan today directed traffic police to strictly ensure that all roads leading to the court as well as the circulation areas within the court are kept free from any obstruction. Division Bench after hearing Sr. Adv Sunil Sethi with Adv Sumit Nayyar observed that a consolidated status report dated 28th January, 2019 has been placed before us. DB further observed that a perusal thereof would show that amongst several other issues pointed out; one of the main difficulties being faced is the unauthorized parking of vehicles on the road leading to the High Court as well as within the Court premises. The documents on record would show that as a result, there is not only complete obstruction of emergency vehicles, which would include fire tenders, police vehicles, ambulances in case of emergency but also to the free movement of vehicles of lawyers, litigants, court officials and any other visitors to the court complex and exiting from the Court Complexes. Such impediments cannot be permitted to stand. The same are also in the teeth of the specific directions made in the present writ petition from time to time and also in violation of the legal provisions, DB said. DB directed Traffic Police to strictly ensure that all roads leading to the court as well as the circulation areas within the court are kept free from any obstruction, permanent or temporary, which would include unauthorized and illegal parking by any person or authority. |
