Jammu, Feb 9: Dogra Front and Shiv Sena workers today took out a procession demanding regional council for Jammu to what they called for ending disparity with Jammu. Ashok Gupta said that the People of Jammu have to fight for each and everything and to end this culture Jammu should have separate Regional Council. Giving the data of the five-year plans from 1992 to 2007, Gupta said despite having more than 10,000 sqkm area, Jammu had got Rs 700 crore against Rs 916 crore for Kashmir during the period. He expressed concern over the declining share of the Jammu region in jobs and said people had lost faith in the state's recruitment agencies. He said the demand for a separate Public Service Commission for Jammu was gaining momentum. It said the concept of the regional council with separate service cadre could take care of the issue of fair recruitment. He stated that the way Ladakh has been given its right, Jammu should also be given its own council as the city of temples have been discriminated over a span of 6 decades. The report of interlocutors published in 2012 had a very clear mention for a regional council with immediate affect, but at the time those governments didn't did anything and the report was piled up in dust bags. At last Gupta appealed Prime Minister that the regional council should be made for Jammu as under the Governor rule the Delhi has complete control with our any glitches and hindrances of the Article 370 and Article 35 A. The party people who were present eat at the time of protest were Ashu, Vimla, Kamla, Rajni, Rani, Champa, Sunita, Darshna, Abhishek and various others were present. |
