Restrictions jeopardize life in winter capital | ATMs san cash, Gas stations dry up | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 17: Three consecutive days of curfew restrictions in Jammu city have completely mutilated normal life and people are eagerly awaiting relaxation in the curfew so that they can replenish vital supplies. People complained that they had little cash left with them and had run out of vital supplies. Those who needed regular supplies of medicine were the worst sufferers as they were not able to buy them even as some chemist shops in the city remained open. Meanwhile, the Gas stations have also dried up as oil tankers were not being allowed to enter the city due to curfew restrictions. People also rued that police did not allow supply of milk in the city and there were reports that at many places, hundreds of liters of milk being carried to the city was spilled by Police. There are also reports from some parts that vegetable vendors were also thrashed by the police in the morning and the items were completely destroyed. The district administration has not yet announced any relaxation in curfew and people possessing 'curfew passes' issued by the district administration, were only being allowed to travel in their vehicles. |
