| Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti celebrated | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 19: A function was organized on the 642nd birth anniversary of Guru Ravi Dass which was celebrated with religious fervour at Guru Ravi Das Sabha, Ward 12, Krishna Nagar area of Jammu West Assembly segment with devotees of Guru Ravi Dass Sabha. Former State President BJP and Former Minister Sat Sharma (CA) along with Corporator Ward 12 Jeet Angral and local residents of the area attended the program. Addressing a large gathering of devotees of Guru Ji on the occasion of Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti, Former Minister Sat Sharma (CA) said that Guru Ravi Dass Ji throughout his life worked for the upliftment of poor and weaker sections of the society. He described Guru Ravi Dass Ji as a great social reformer who tirelessly worked to enhance the downtrodden and under-privileged sections of the society. He also mentioned as to how Guru Ravi Dass Ji teachings are more relevant in day to day life when the society is ridden with hatred and intolerance. Speaking on the occasion, Corporator Jeet Angral greeted the people on the occasion of Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti and appealed them to follow the teachings of this great saint. He said that maintaining brotherhood, peace and fraternity was the message of Guru Ravi Dass Ji. He said his teachings of love, peace, brotherhood and equality are more relevant even today. Surjit singh chib, Varinder dogra, Romesh Thakyal, Anil Angral, Harbans Lal, Kuldeep Kumar, Bunty kumar, Satvinder singh, Chintu, Chandan Singh Chib and many other were also present on the occasion. |
