Banihal, Feb 23: A meeting of peace committee was held at Banihal police station today in which about 120 to 140 locals from all walks of life participated.
The meeting was chaired by Addl SP Ramban-Sanjay Parihar, which was attended by SDPO Banihal-Sajjad Sarwar, DySP Traffic-Pardeep Sen, Inspector Aijaj Wani-SHO Banihal, newly elected Sarpanches, Panches, Vice-president Veopar Mandal, elderly persons and youth.
During the process of the interaction, threadbare discussion was held on various issues pertaining to the area. Participants were assured that all their genuine grievances would be properly addressed/projected.
All the participants were appealed to maintain communal harmony and peace in the area (for which they are traditionally known).
They were further appealed not to indulge in and rely on rumour mongering. All the participants appreciated the initiative of Police and demanded for such interactions in future as well. |
