Stopping adds to GK, KR will hit journalism in state: Wani | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 23: Former trade union leader and PDP leader Abdul Qayoom Wani said that stopping adds to Greater Kashmir and Kashmir Reader famous news papers of state will have negative impact on journalism and journalists of Jammu and Kashmir. Wani said that press being a fourth pillar of democracy needs free and fair atmosphere for highlighting the public issues for the larger interests of society. He urged upon the Govt to reconsider the decision of stopping adds to these news papers for the larger interest of people and journalist fraternity. PDP leader said that media houses are sensitive institutions and have a big role in shaping the society and any type of mishandling will have negative impact on journalism in particular and society in general. Wani urged upon the govt for revocation of order of stopping ads to these papers and showed solidarity with them. |
