| Plantation drive, awareness programme held in Udhampur | | |  Early Times Report
Udhampur, Feb 23: Social forestry division Udhampur started a massive winter plantation drive along side Dhar road at village Sunal of Tehsil Majalta in presence of Director Social Forestry, J&K Dr Neelu Ghera and Regional Director Social Forestry Jammu, Dr Kumar MK.
During the day long plantation drive, 1200 numbers of plants were planted including large number of ornamental Seplings, Chinar and Golden Cypress. The event was attended by Naib Sarpanch Thial ,Kewal Krishan , Nain Sarpanch Kail Nirmal Kesar, Sarpanch Bharnara Rajesh Sharma, Sarpanch Thial Rita Devi and representative of Revenue Department, RDD , Students of National model Academy Kail Pardai and locales.
Further, an awareness camp was held, where Director Social Forestry Department (SFD) , J&K, Dr Neelu Ghera was the Cheif Guest, while speaking on the occasion Director SFD Interacted with locals, during which fresh demands for establishments of village wood loads at Bharnara , Thial & kail localities were made.
Naib Sarpanch Nirmal Kesar requested director SFD to plant local species including fruit bearing plants to meet aesthetics , timber requirements at manage monkey menace and also start plantation drive at Deviled and Sandoo area.
