Jammu, Feb 23: Punjab Lekhak Sabha Jammu organized a book release function at K L Saigal Hall, Cultural Academy, Jammu today where two Punjabi books were released.
These books titled 'Katha Ikk Gujhey Heerey Di' and 'Kavita Udaasi Di', a written by S. Miya Singh Udaas and compiled and edited by Bikramjeet Singh Vicky. A large number of intellectuals, writers and artists attended the programme.
Dr. Baljeet Kaur, HoD Punjabi Department, University of Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion whereas Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages presided over the function. Dr. Monojit, President Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Dr. Baljeet Raina, General Secretary and S. Miyan Singh, the author, were present in the presidium.
Dr. Monojit welcomed the dignitaries and guests. S. Ichhu Pal Singh, former Editor Sheeraza Punjabi and Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik read out their critical papers reflecting views and approached of the books released. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn in his presidential address said that the books reveal the chronicle facts of about one hundred years.
Dr. Baljeet Kaur, Dr. Monojit, President PLS, Narinder Singh Bikramjeet Singh Vicky also expressed their views.
Dr. Baljit Raina, General Secretary, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu conducted the proceedings of the programme.
