| Lecturers seek regularization, stage protest demonstration | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 23: Hundreds of contractual lecturers on Saturday staged a protest against the authorities for not regularising them despite repeated promises.
The lecturers, under the banner of All J&K Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Forum, staged a demonstration. They threatened to intensify their agitation if they were not regularised soon.
Seeking the intervention of Governor Satya Pal Malik, the lecturers asked the authorities to stop fresh engagement of contractual teachers till their services were regularised.
"We have been approaching the authorities time and again but our pleas have fallen on deaf ears. We have been forced to take to the streets," said one of the protestor .
The lecturers alleged that despite directions from the administration, some chief education officers were trying to issue a notification for fresh selections. |
