Providing 5 marla plots to border residents in safer places turns to be jumla: Manjit Singh
3/30/2019 10:11:20 PM
Early Times Report
VIJAYPUR, Mar 30: Former Minister and District President Samba, Manjit Singh on Saturday accused BJP of ignoring Jammu's development for the sake of power.
"The tourism sector which could have been back bone of Jammu has not been developed, even as slogans and statements were given by the BJP when they were in rule in Jammu," said former Minister Manjit Singh.
Singh, who held series of public meetings at Khanpur, Akhri, Palota, Shekhupura, Nawa Chak, Jad, Partap Singh Pura, Showni, Khokre Chak and other places in Vijaypur assembly constituency appealed people to vote NC-Congress candidate for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary.
Senior Congress leader Manjit Singh said that BJP has befooled people of Jammu and border residents along the International Border.
"The sufferings of the people have increased under Modi Government in Centre and then, PDP-BJP Government in Jammu and Kashmir," he alleged.
He cautioned people that electing them again would be a mistake because they have their own goals to allegedly spread hate against each other, instead working for development by keeping unity among the communities.
"The border residents have faced hostile situation from time-to-time on the International Border, but the leaders failed to provide them safe places to live in during the time of shelling," said Manjit Singh.
Singh said that the five marla plots to the people have again turned to be 'jumla', the border people have been left to the mercy of God.
"They have again started knocking at the doors of the people, whom they forget, when there needed," he added. He further said that the people have not received compensation for the land ahead of fence and they are not being allowed to cultivate in the fields.
He said that most of the people have lost their land and they are dependent upon daily work, they do in private fields. Hence, people are facing hardship in their lives. "The Government is elected by the people so that their issues are addressed, but it did not happen," he alleged.
