NSF holds 11th State Convention; demands comprehensive policy for youthz | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 30: On the occasion of 11th State Convention, the National Secular Forum (NSF) today passed a resolution demanding from the state as well central governments to frame comprehensive policy to tackle the issue of unemployment. The daylong programme was spread over three sessions wherein intensive deliberations were held among the NSF members over the burning issues being faced by the youth of J&K in general and Jammu region in particular. A seminar on the title "Growing Unemployment and Failure of Govt to Tackle This Burning Issue" was also organized on the occasion in which the young speakers shared their views. Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu (JU) Prof Keshav Sharma was the chief guest of the function which was presided over by Dean Sciences JU Prof Naresh Padha. Prof Lokesh Verma Former Head and Dean Education Dept JU was the special guest. Among the guests of honor were Provost JU Hostels Prof Yash Pal Sharma, JKCA Member Ankush Abrol and veteran journalist S. Satnam Singh. Addressing the convention, Prof Keshav said, "Youth are the hope of nation and they must channelize their energy towards a positive cause. He advised them to work hard and create their own ways to success. He urged them to stay away from negative elements and contribute in nation building." Earlier, Dr Vikas Sharma, NSF State President presented the welcome address and flayed the state and central governments for pursuing anti-youth policies. Besides, media persons including Uday Bhaskar, Koushal Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Naveen Koul, Rahul Sharma, Sewa Ram, Mohit Sharma, Jatinder, Pinkle Mehra were also honored. Mashkoor alihi Khan President University Unit was delivering the vote of thanks. |
