Udhampur, Mar 30: The Government Degree College, Udhampur organized an International Video Conference from San Francisco for its students and the faculty. Information technology has taken the world by storm with its new inventions, innovations and ever changing dynamics' and it is imperative that we bring in the best knowledge about IT in the education sector to shape the youth for a progressive future; said Amir Altaf who is the Regional Manager Hortonwork Asia Pacific (APAC) , a data software company based in San Francisco, United States having a global presence and dealing in the development and support of open-source software designed to manage Big Data and associated processing. Taking a cue from his theory and in an endeavour to expose students to the latest technologies, the GDC, Udhampur organized an International Video Conference. Earlier, the session started with a formal note of welcome be the Principal of the College Dr. Nutan Kumar Resutra who emphasized on the acquisition of knowledge from various available sources apart from syllabus and printed books.The faculty present included Dr. Uday Bhanu, the Vice Principal of the College, Dr. Bhavnaish Chand, Prof. B.
