Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 30: National Institute of Fashion Designing (NIFD) hosted "End of Semester Garment Display 2019" at NIFD campus Karan market, where 1st semester students showcased their innovation and creativity in the form of self-designed and self-crafted garments which were worn by themselves only.
The chief guests on the occasion were Ritu Beri and Rusky Wahan of Aura Fashion Studio, Shivani Puri (CEO Shalz Medispa) and Sujata Anand (senior management Consultant), who were enthralled by the arduous and outstanding efforts of the students.
The entire collection of garments primarily focused to bring the creativity and garment construction skills together on a single platform.
Our team of students worked overnights to present this collection of formal frocks.
The entire collection ranges from different silhouettes, stylized cuts and includes vibrant hues. Nifdians also focused on delicate embellishments that include pearls, laces and handcrafted bows, belts and other accessories.
Some students even worked hard on customizing hijabs.
The event was a talent centric show where not only fashion but dance and singing also made its way.
The show commenced with a ramp walk by students, followed by dance by few of the talented students. The first, second and third prize were bagged by Sakshi Kaila, Balkis Anjum and Kashish Jamwal.
Vanita Thakur (Chairperson NIFD) applauded the dedication of the students for being active learners and for being outstanding on the ramp. She also wished and blessed them to do well in life and to give another dimension to the definition of glamour and fashion in today's world.
In addition to the following, she also congratulated the parents of the students for their exceptional support to their wards and for understanding their knack for fashion design. The show concluded with a prize distribution ceremony.
