Congress has always been soft on terrorists, separatists: Brig Gupta | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 7: Taking cognisance of Congress manifesto, Brig Anil Gupta, State Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party has accused Congress of always been soft on terrorists and pro-separatists in order to appease its 'vote bank'. Elaborating further Brig Gupta said that the Congress manifesto has unveiled the blueprint to assist NC-PDP "Break India" Plan. Despite being a national party, Congress is playing a second fiddle to these regional parties for the sake of its political survival. It appears that the chapter on J&K has been drafted by the NC-PDP combine and dictated by Hurriyat. NC-PDP-Congress combine has always been pro-separatist. Despite grave provocations and anti-national rhetoric by the Hurriyat leadership, they were never reined in and instead were endowed with political and economic benefits at the expense of loyal and faithful citizens, accused Brig Gupta. The terrorists housed in various jails in Kashmir were leading luxurious lives under their patronage. Omar Abdullah led NC-Congress government of which the present Jammu-Poonch candidate was a member did great disservice to national interest by allowing the Pak trained terrorists to return with families via Nepal (illegal entry) and letting them settle down in Kashmir. As per the Return & Rehabilitation Policy of surrendered terrorists issued by Abdullah government only entry through four designated points was permitted and Nepal was not included in that. Many of these surrendered terrorists were recycled thus giving boost to local militancy, stated Brig Gupta. |
