Congress condemns arrest of CPIM secretary, seeks re-poll at 2 polling stations | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 18: Congress condemned the arrest of CPIM Secretary of district Kathua Seva Ram after he complained about malfunctioning of EVM machine at polling station number 104/65 Kathua today, besides party has seeken re-polling at least two polling stations Hiranagar and Gool where the voting machines only press the button of Lotus (BJP). In a statement Chief Spokesperson JKPCC Ravinder Sharma has strongly condemned the arrest and detention of Seva Ram when he complained about the malfunctioning of voting machine, as he pressed the button of 'Hand' symbol but the vote was casted in favour of 'Lotus' (BJP). Seva Ram was arrested and detained in police station. He while demanding the high level enquiry in the matter, sought a strict action against those responsible for the illegal detention of Seva Ram. Meanwhile re-polling sought at least on two polling stations 113-Hiranagar and 88-Chajroo Gulabgarh assembly segments. |
