| CDE programme conducted at Institute of Dental Sciences Sehora | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 18: A one-day Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programme titled "ABC…The Trending….& Dental Practice" was conducted in Institute of Dental Sciences, Sehora, Jammu by Department of Periodontics.
Dr Saurabh Gupta, Head of Department, Periodontics, was the organizing secretary for this event which was also coordinated by Dr Jasjit Kaur Sahota, Dr Prashant Singh, Dr Malvika Singh, Dr Bangeet Kaur and Dr Kirandeep Kaur.
The event was attended by Dr Harvinder Singh, Principal, IDS, Dr Sarbjeet Singh, Vice Principal, and about 154 delegates which included dental and medical faculty from IDS, interns, as well as dentists from Jammu, Srinagar, Chandigarh, and others states.
The speakers were Dr Anisha Maria, Head of Department, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Bhabha College of Dental Sciences, Bhopal and Dr Rahul Maria, Head of Department, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Bhabha College of Dental Sciences, Bhopal.
The programme intended to help young dental graduates as well as practising dentists by providing them with a platform to update their knowledge and clinical skills in dental practice.
Dr Anisha Maria elaborated upon the significance of "Asepsis and Sterilization" in dental practice while providing quality dental care to patients. She also carried out a lecture session on "Facial Esthetics", which briefly dealt with various new trends to improve facial appearance alongside dental esthetics. This would help a clinician to spread better awareness about different dental cosmetic treatment alternatives available to an individual. She also performed a live demonstration of facial peel on a volunteer.
Dr Rahul Maria delivered a lecture on how to establish a link between basic Endodontic Principles and daily clinical practice in order to provide root canal treatment in a simple yet effective manner. He also carried out a live demonstration on various steps of root canal treatment and explained how to use different instruments to perform the same. Dr Anisha Maria and Dr Rahul Maria conducted an interactive chat session where delegates could directly interact with them and resolve their queries & doubts.
Dr Ritesh Gupta, Registrar, J&K State Dental Council, and representatives from J&KSDC Dr Bhupinder Singh and Dr Ayush Sharma were also present to guide delegates regarding online registration and renewal and stressed upon the importance of registration of all dentists.
Sumeet Gandotra representative Colgate Palmolive Pvt. Ltd, was also present and displayed the various oral hygiene products to the delegates. |
