Man gets lifer for murdering father | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 23: A local court on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment to a Jammu man for murdering his father around nine years ago. On 19.08.2010, one Sharief Ahmed approached police station Nagrota stating that his brother Nazir Ahmed had divorced his first wife and contracted second marriage. Out of his first marriage three sons namely Saleem Ahmed, Mukhtiar Ahmed and Javed Ahmed were born, and all the three sons were inimical towards his father for contracting second marriage. On the same day, all the three sons with attacked their father Nazir Ahmed, uncle Nazir Ahmed, and two more persons with a sharp edged weapon. Nazir died on the spot while the others were critically injured. After the commission of crime Salem, Mukhtiar and Javed fled from the spot. The Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, Vinod Chatterji Koul, after hearing public prosecutor Rakesh Badyal for the State ordered that the accused be sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life and pay a fine of Rs. 50,000 for the commission of offence punishable under section 302 RPC. In default of payment of fine, the accused shall undergo further imprisonment of one year. |
