| Battel Ballian cement Industries cause ailments to residents, authorities unmoved | | |

Udhampur, May 9: All cement manufacturing factories like Shri Ram, Uma cement, Shevalik , Kashmir etc in Battal Ballian here are violating norms and are polluting the air thereby posing a grave threat to precious human lives.
Early Times correspondent saw smoke coming out of the chimneys polluting the air.
Experts opine that if this continues then the locality near these factories will get respiratory ailments including lung cancer and other heart diseases.
A local residential informed that many times they brought this into the notice of the district administration as well as PCB but no action was taken.
Moreover, the factories work round the clock and causes noise pollution which adversely affects the health of the people.
The locals have time and again sought shifting of the factories but all in vain. |
