| Potters face official apathy as earthen pots sell like hot cakes | | |  Arun Jasrotia

Udhampur, May 9: As temperature soared in Udhampur , the demand for earthen pots has increased. The good old earthen pots are selling like hot cakes because of its natural cooling quality and health benefits.
Sewa ram, a potter from district Udhampur while talking to ET said that from last 25 years his forefathers started the said business.
He said people are now coming back to traditional vessels and earthen pots are in great demand.
However, he rued government apathy. "The government is not helping the potters. Even the forest department does not provide firewood to us," he said. He appealed to the Government to extend all possible help to the potters. |
