GDC Billawar organizes symposium | | | Early Times Repot
Kathua, May 9: Government Degree College Billawar organized a symposium on "Truth and Non-Violence" to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of the father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi. About 150 students took part in the symposium. The participants threw light on the importance and value of truth and non-violence in the contemporary era. The speakers also highlighted how truth and non-violence can act as a silent weapon to win hearts and minds. The senior faculty of the college acted as jury members in the event. Akriti Sharma of B. Sc 2nd Semester was adjudged first whereas Nancy and Mansi were adjudged first and second runners up respectively. Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Jugal Kishore Sharma who was the chief guest in the symposium also spoke about the relevance of Gandhian Principles in the modern times with particular emphasis on the youth of the college. The programme was compeered by Prof. Rajni Kumari and Prof. Sindhu Kotwal. The prizes were distributed among the participants by the Prof. Sanjeev Gupta Vice Principal. The event culminated with the formal vote of thanks delivered by Ravi Kumar. |
