Jammu, May 9: A mountaineer of Jammu and Kashmir Shivana Charak today left for China to participate in an international competition in Lead climbing and Bouldering to be held at Ningbo, an industrial hub of East China from 11th to 12th May. Shivani along with Adarsh Singh of Delhi were selected by Indian Mountaineering Foundation, the apex body for sport climbing in the country, to represent India in a series of international sport climbing competitions to be held at five different cities of China during the current year. Total prize money for all these competitions is 100000 Euros (Rs.78 lakhs approx.) which shall be distributed equally between men and women categories. Meanwhile, members of Mountaineering Association of J&K led by Ram Khajuria, General Secretary, Khurshid Ahmad and Yogeshwar Kumar, Vice Presidents; Shawetica Khajuria, Jt. Secretary, Sushil Singh, treasurer, Sonam Sidharth and Rahul Sharma, Chairman of Sprawling Buds ICSE School have wished Shivani all the best for her competition in China. |
