Jammu, May 9: The department of Students Welfare in collaboration with NSS, Units organized certificate distribution programme' for Swachh Bharat summer internship programme's participants. Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu in presence of Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, Prof Jasbir Singh, Chairman, NSS & Dean Students Welfare and Dr Hema Gandotra, NSS Programme Officer distributed the certificates to the interns on successful completion of the summer internship programme. Prof Dhar urged the volunteers to get involved in the Swachhta movement more vigorously. Prof Jasbir Singh, Dean Students Welfare and Chairman, NSS, Campus Units apprised the Vice-Chancellor about the programmes which are being taken up under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and the activities that are being taken up in the adopted villages. Dr. Vinay Thusoo, Incharge Media Cell, the Nodal officer for the internship congratulated all the students for successfully completion of the internship programme. During this internship, various activities were carried out which included awareness about cleanliness, rallies, plantation drives, Toilet Construction, Swachhta Melas, Survey, Nukkad Natak, etc. The team led by Group Leader Vikas Pandita which worked in Trilokpur Village was adjudged as the Best Intern at University Level. Also, this team secured second position at State level and Vikas Pandita on behalf of his team received Rs. 30000 cash prize at state Level. The team members included Vivek Parihar, Shivika, Bhavika Malhotra, Gotam Sharma and Harpreet Singh. Among others Dr Imran Farooq, PRO to Vice-Chancellor, Ifra Kak, Cultural Officer and Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor were also present on the occasion. |
