JAMMU, May 11: Amit Sharma, Special Secretary to Government, Transport Department with Additional Charge of J&K Road Safety Council today made a surprise visit to Trial Grounds where Road Transport Officer Jammu along with his team was conducting trials of candidates for passing driving test for Jammu district. During the visit, Special Secretary Amit Sharma took a round of the Trial Grounds along with RTO Jammu Dhaneter Singh and Motor Vehicle Inspectors Trial Board Chander Mohan Sharma and Rajiv Kundal wherein public was undergoing trials today as per their allocated slots for Morning and Afternoon shifts. During on spot interaction with public present for trials, they expressed satisfaction over the professional approach of RTO Jammu regarding conduct of trials at the grounds. However, there was a general demand for provision of public conveniences in the form of portable washrooms and drinking water facilities at the trial grounds as public needs to wait for hours together for undergoing trials at the Ground. It was noted by Special Secretary Transport and he assured for an immediate redressal of this genuine requirement of the public at Trial Grounds which needs to be mitigated till ITDR complexes come up at Jammu as well as Srinagar in next few months. Moreover, Special Secretary Transport Amit Sharma directed that RTO Jammu should get the trial grounds macadamized immediately through JDA as the quality of trial roads had deteriorated over the time and require immediate repairs. |
