Police working on different angles

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 15: A day after the alleged suicide of KAS officer Sushil Kumar Attri, who was found hanging with the ceiling fan in an apartment in Sainik Colony area of the city, a medical board of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu conducted postmortem and handed over the body to the relatives for last rites.
On the directions of Additional District Magistrate, a medical board comprising Dr Vishali Kotwal, Associate Professor Medicine, Dr Shivani Mehta, Lecturer Forensic Medicine, Dr Bharti Thakur, Lecturer Pathology and Dr Talib Hussain, Lecturer Surgery conducted the postmortem of KAS officer Sushil Kumar Atri in the presence of Executive Magistrate, Naib Tehsildar Rakh Bahu with video-graphy and submitted the report to concerned quarters.
Claiming that it is murder, the relatives and friends of the KAS officer staged a protest by blocking national Highway at Channi Himmat and demanded CBI probe or constituting an SIT to investigate the matter so the truth will come out.
They alleged that it is not a suicide case because Sushil's could not take such a step to hang himself with ceiling fan in the apartment and that it is a murder case which needs to be investigated.
They also said that similar cases took place in Laswara village when the body of a young person was found and it was a clear murder, but no one has been arrested so far.
A senior police officer, seeking anonymity, told Early Times that the alleged suicide of a KAS officer is a matter of great concern and the department is working on various angles to know the reasons behind the extreme step.
"We cannot say anything right now, because it will take time to investigate the matter carefully," the officer said, adding that family members don't know why the KAS officer was in the apartment in Sainik Colony.
