Jammu, May 21: PCCF, J&K reviewed the fire preparedness of territorial and allied wings during the meeting held today in Van Bhawan Jammu. In order to have a comprehensive fire management strategy for the upcoming fire reason, various steps have been taken by the Forest Department which involves advanced fire alert system based on satellite data, Mobilization of staff in sensitive locations, establishment of fire control rooms and monitoring of fire incidents on day-to-day basis. For this year Forest department has registered around 1000 front line staff with Forest Survey of India , Forest fire portal to receive location specific fire alert through mobile SMS. The Fast 3.0 which has been launched by the FSI during Jan 2019 by FSI, Dehradun has dedicated separate portal for Jammu and Kashmir to Monitor the fire alert received from MODIS and SNPPs satellites having a ground resolution of 1 km x1 km and 375x375m resolution respectively. The meeting was attended by Chief Conservator of Forest, Jammu Sameer Bharathi IFS,Chief Conservator of Forests, Working Plan & Training Rabi Kumar IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest, Planning & Project Ramesh Kumar IFS, Conservator of Forests, East Circle Mohandaas IFS , Conservator of Forests, West Circle, Jitendra Singh IFS has attended the meeting. |
