State BJP mulls `Margdarshak Mandal' for dumping `dead wood' | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 21: The state BJP is mulling Margdarshak Mandal to dump `dead wood'. The idea has been inspired by dumping of veterans like LK Advani and others by PM Modi and Amit Shah. Sources in the BJP circles said that an exercise in this regard is likely to be initiated soon after the installation of new Government at the Centre. The exercise has been necessitated owing to opposition by these old guards for new entrants in the party, who are to be adjusted at suitable positions in the organization for using their mass base to expand the party at grass root level before announcement of the State Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, sources explained. Since these old guards feel threatened from the new entrants, they are opposing the latter at all levels by giving the example of Choudhary Lal Singh, who revolted against the party before the Lak Sabha elections. However, on the other hand, BJP high command is convinced that the new entrants are mass based and could be greatly helpful in further expanding the party base before Assembly elections. At the same time, sources said, the high command also feels that negativity among some old guards could trigger factionalism in the party. To avoid such situation and in view of the fact that these old guards are not only zero among masses but also remained silent during the just concluded Parliamentary elections, sources said that the BJP high command is mulling to adopt the formula devised by the national president Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi for sidelining L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and other veterans. The same formula is all set to be implemented here by forming a State level `Margdarshak Mandal' where the old guards, who are of no use to the party, will be dumped, sources informed and added that an exercise in this regard is likely to be initiated soon. |
