MJR-47 holds executive meeting
6/12/2019 12:00:27 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 11: MJR-47, an organisation of 13 lakhs DPs of 1947 from POJK, held its executive meeting on 11th June 2019 at Miran Sahib to discuss its future plan in view of the formation of the Union govt. after the recent elections. MJR-47 heartily welcomed the initiative taken by the GOI to mull delimitation commission over-ruling the freeze upto 2026 and undo the undemocratic decision taken by the autocratic rulers of the state in 2002. This announcement of the Home Minister to reconstitute assembly constituency in J&K state on a justifiable basis of population and areas shows the resolve of the BJP Govt. to undo the mistakes and set right the discrimination and injustice done to a section of population in J&K and enforce freedom and real democracy in the state. MJR-47, an organization of 12.5 - 13 Lakhs DP's of 1947 form POJK, illegally occupied by Pakistan, had been demanding 8-10 Assembly Seats out of the 24 Seats kept frozen for POJK occupied areas for the last 70 years in proportion to the populace now living in this part of the state in India after 1947 tribal raid by PAK on the erstwhile state of J&K on 22nd Oct. 1947. Though the erstwhile govt. had once taken out one seat from these 25 Seats and created one extra constituency of Mendhar to Suit their interests. But the genuine democratic demand of the DP's of 1947 had all along been ignored. This will enable the 13 Lakhs populace of DP's to vote and elect their own DP representatives in the state assembly who will fight for justice for DP's with full vigor and confidence.
