Jammu, June 11: Janak Raj Angural, Chairman (J&K Grameen Bank) honored with a national level award for outstanding contribution towards Self Help Group (SHG) Bank Linkage 2018-19 under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) during the National level seminar held at New Delhi. Sanjeev Kumar, Addl. Secy. Ministry of Rural Development; Leena Johri, Jt. Secty NRLM, Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD); Anita Baghel, Director Ministry of Rural Development; Mithilesh Kumar, GM NABARD; were present during the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Leena Johri appreciated the efforts of the bank for spreading credit facilities through SHG-Bank Linkage programme to the needy sectors at every nook and corner of the State. She cited that the bank has formed 500 JLGs, conducted 174 financial literacy programmes in FY 2018-19 and opened 2,854 NRLM accounts. GM, NABARD Mithilesh Kumar and others also appreciated the Bank's performance in Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion activities throughout the state. Janak Raj Angural, Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank thanked for the honour conferred by Ministry of Rural Development, thereby, appreciating the efforts of Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department of the bank. He further assured that the bank will continue on to play a major role towards development of the State and its populace in each aspect. Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager, J&K Grameen Bank cited that Bank has linked 3613 SHGs as saving and 3278 SHGs as credit with Rs.33 lac outstanding under NRLM so far. Through various Financial Literacy camps conducted throughout the year the bank has spread the message of financial literacy and awareness and ensure the mass coverage of Govt. schemes thereby spreading its benefits at every nook and corner of the state. |
